TCTA fights to keep salary schedules, class-size caps |

TCTA's Lonnie Hollingsworth testified at a Senate Education Committee hearing Monday to refute the notion that teacher salary schedules and minimum class-size caps were cost drivers that should be reviewed as districts face financial pressures.
TCTA is concerned
that the talk of cost drivers is being used as an excuse to eliminate or modify class sizes for K-4 and the state salary schedule, along with any future pass-through salary increases.

TCTA positively impacts new appraisal rules |
When TEA proposed changes to teacher appraisal rules, TCTA was not the only teacher group to provide input. Our suggestions, however, were the only ones TEA took to heart. One of those resulted in removing supervisors from being involved in developing a teacher’s intervention plan.
